2. Defendant Authorization Form
The Defendant Authorization Form is a required step in the process. By completing it, you are giving BailPro Bail Bonds the legal authority to execute a bond for the defendant on your behalf. Without this form, we cannot move forward.
We send this form to you digitally and it can be completed from your phone, tablet, or computer in just a few minutes. No printing, no faxing, no office visit. Once you sign and submit, we receive a copy and our bondsman fills out their portion. You will receive a completed copy for your records.
Why This Form is Required
Connecticut law requires written authorization before a bondsman can post a bond on behalf of another party. This form is your official consent and protects both you and the bondsman throughout the process.

3. Co-Signer Agreement Form
Not every bail bond requires a co-signer. Whether yours does depends on several factors including the bail amount, the nature of the charges, and the defendant’s history. Your bondsman will let you know right away whether this step applies to your situation.
If a co-signer is required, this person takes on a degree of financial and legal responsibility for ensuring the defendant appears at all scheduled court dates. We walk every co-signer through exactly what they are agreeing to before anything is signed so that there are no surprises.

What Does a Co-Signer Do?
A co-signer guarantees that the defendant will appear at all required court dates. If the defendant fails to appear, the co-signer may be held responsible for the full bail amount.
Who Can Be a Co-Signer?
Typically a family member, close friend, or trusted individual who knows the defendant well and is confident they will meet all court obligations.
What if I Cannot Find a Co-Signer?
Speak with your bondsman directly. Not every situation requires one, and there may be other options available depending on the specifics of your case.
4. Payment Agreement
Once the bond is approved, a payment agreement is put in place. This contract outlines the total premium owed, the down payment amount, and the installment schedule for the remaining balance.
Bail bond premiums in Connecticut are regulated by the CT Department of Insurance, so there are no hidden fees and no bondsman can charge more or less than the set rate. What you are quoted is exactly what you pay.

How Much Does a Bail Bond Cost in CT?

5. Credit Card Authorization Contract
The Credit Card Authorization Contract is the final step before the bond is posted. This form authorizes Bail Pro Bail Bonds to charge your payment method on file according to the installment schedule agreed upon in your payment plan.
This keeps the payment process simple and automatic — you do not need to manually submit each installment. Charges are made on the agreed schedule until the balance is fully paid.
Once this form is signed and submitted, your bondsman posts the bond and goes directly to the facility on your behalf. You stay home. We handle everything from that point forward and keep you updated until your loved one is released.
What Happens After This Form is Signed?
Your bondsman posts the bond immediately and heads to the facility. You do not need to be there. We handle everything on-site and contact you the moment your loved one is released.
Is My Payment Information Secure?
Yes. Your card details are stored securely and only used for the scheduled installments outlined in your payment agreement. Nothing is charged outside of that agreement.
What if My Payment Method Changes?
Contact your bondsman directly as soon as possible to update your payment information and avoid any disruption to your installment schedule.
